Celebrating My Writing Year: A Look Back at 2024

As the year comes to a close, I’m reflecting on the incredible milestones and moments that shaped my writing journey in 2024. It’s been a year full of growth, connection, and creativity, and I couldn’t be more excited to share the highlights with you.

By the Numbers

This year, I’ve had the privilege of:

• Presenting to over 1,500 students: Sharing the joy of storytelling and poetry with young minds has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

• Selling over 2,100 books: Seeing so many people connect with my stories and poems is humbling and motivating.

• Visiting 9 schools: Engaging directly with students, teachers, and communities through workshops and readings.

• Hosting 17 book signings and presentations: From libraries to community events, I loved meeting readers and sharing my journey.

• Winning 3 book awards: A testament to the support and inspiration from readers, family, and fellow writers.

  
  

Publications and New Projects

• Two new books launched in July 2024:

  • Elsie’s Adventures to Brainy Cove — a children’s book that blends SEL with storytelling.

  • this deep, wide, dark world — a chapbook exploring motherhood, resilience, and healing.

• 15 individual poems published in 2024, alongside:

  • 1 chapbook accepted for publication in 2025.

  • A full-length book of poetry also accepted for publication in 2025.

    
    

Looking Ahead

I’m thrilled to announce my next children’s book, Elsie’s Adventures to Harmony Hills: The Big Move, coming in 2025! It continues Elsie’s journey, focusing on navigating change, building friendships, and embracing growth.
