Gratitude & Storytelling: My Experience on KOTA Territory News

I had the incredible opportunity to be featured on KOTA Territory News Morning Show and in their March Author Spotlight! It was a surreal and humbling experience to sit down and talk about my journey as a writer, my upcoming books, and the passion that drives my work.

One of the things I love most about being an author is the ability to tell stories that resonate—not just with children, but with educators, families, and communities. During my interview, I had the chance to talk about Elsie’s Adventures to Brainy Cove and the ways it helps children understand the science behind emotions. I also got to share a bit about my next book, which continues to bridge literacy, social-emotional learning, and storytelling in a way that feels both engaging and meaningful.

Beyond writing, I spoke about who I am as a person—an educator, a mother, and someone deeply invested in culturally sustaining practices and equity in education. My journey has been shaped by my experiences in classrooms, working with families, and supporting students in ways that go beyond academics. It’s always my hope that my writing reflects that passion, offering stories that uplift, educate, and inspire.

I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity to share my work with a broader audience. A huge thank you to KOTA Territory News for featuring me and shining a light on the power of storytelling. If you missed the segment, stay tuned—I’ll be sharing more soon!

Until then, happy reading and storytelling! 📚✨
